How long does it take to get tested?

The total process will vary depending on the time of day and the number of patients at the Laboratory at that time. No online registration is needed, just drive through.

When will I Receive my test results?

Alpha Diagnostics’ team knows how valuable your time is and how critical it may be to get test results back quickly, which is why we pride ourselves on our ability to have your results ready the same day you are tested.

Can I get tested if I don’t have an appointment?

Yes. There is no appointment needed to get tested.

What is the cost of getting tested?

The COVID-19 tests are free with insurance information provided. Self-pay rates are provided upon registration online. In NC, if you are uninsured, you can apply to get coverage through North Carolina ePASS. Medicaid issues that patient a policy number once they apply and at that point, the test becomes no cost for an uninsured patient.

What type of insurances are accepted?

All insurances are being accepted.

Is COVID-19 testing the only testing available?

Yes, for the time being. When Alpha feels as the community of North Carolina has been properly treated and COVID-19 is no longer a national threat, other testing will become available.

Is another test needed	This test is typically highly accurate and usually does not need to be repeated.	Positive results are usually highly accurate, but false positives can happen, especially in areas where very few people have the virus. Negative results may need to be confirmed with a molecular test.	Sometimes a second antibody test is needed for accurate results.
